Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Dharamshala

Welcome to Dharamshala. The High snow-clad Dhauladhar ranges form a magnificent backdrop to the hill resort of Dharamshala. This is the principal township of the Kangra district and overlooks a wide plain. With dense pine and deodar forests, numerous streams, cool healthy air, attractive surroundings and the nearby snowline, Dharamshala has everything for a perfect holiday. It is full of life and yet peaceful. The headquarters of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is at upper Dharamshala. Lower Dharamshala (1380m) is a busy commercial centre covering a wide area in the form of twin settlements. While upper Dharamshala (1830m), with the suburbs of Mcleodganj and Forsytheganj, retains a British flavour and colonial lifestyle.
The charming church of St. John in the wilderness is situated here, and this is the final resting place of Lord Elgin, a British Viceroy of India during the 19th century. A large Tibetan community has also made this place their home. Numerous ancient temples like Jwalamukhi, Brijeshwari and Chamunda lie on the plains below Dharamshala.
On arrival, get transferred to your hotel and check in.
Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 Full Day Local Sightseeing in Dharamshala

After breakfast, today, get ready for a local sightseeing tour of Dharamshala's major attractions.
Visit and explore Dal Lake, Church, Bhagsu Nag Temple and Tibetan Monastery - all filled with natural beauty.
After lunch, we visit the famous Tibetan Medical Centre (where various ailments are treated using rare Tibetan medicines) and St. John Church, one of the oldest churches in the region.
Some other places to visit include Kangra Art Museum, Tea Gardens and Kunal Pathri Temple.
Overnight stay at a hotel in Dharamshala.

Day 3 Transfer to Dalhousie

Check out from your hotel after breakfast.
Later, hit the road to Dalhousie - a famous hill station and unique summer retreat in Himachal. Watch for curious painted rock carvings of Buddhist deities along the south side of the ridge. The ravishing rhododendrons, gorgeous greens and pristine air add to the beauty of Dalhousie. Quite a few Tibetan refugees have also found and made their homes in Dalhousie
. You can also choose to visit the British-era churches of St John (1863) and St Francis (1894) or wander around the market areas of Subhash Chowk and Gandhi Chowk.
Your evening is free for leisure activities.
Overnight stay at hotel in Dalhousie.

Day 4 Local Full Day Sightseeing

After a delicious breakfast, today set out on a local sightseeing tour of Dalhousie.
Visit the four beautiful churches in Dalhousie - St. Andrew's Church, St. Patrick's Church, St. Francis Church, and St. John's Church at Gandhi Chowk.
Just a kilometre from Gandhi Chowk, visit Subhash Baoli - the enchanting spot surrounded by majestic trees where freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose supposedly spent time in 1937 contemplating and meditating.
Head to Panchpula - a picturesque picnic spot where a stream feeds a series of pools.
Finally, visit Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary - home to the 'ghoral' and Himalayan black bear.
Overnight stay at your hotel in Dalhousie.

Day 5 Transfer to Manali

Have your breakfast at the hotel, and then hit the road to Manali, one of the most popular hill stations in India.
Upon arrival, check-in and get comfortable with your surroundings.
Spend the evening in leisure. Flocked by honeymooners and family vacationers all around the year, Manali is dotted with several attractions.
Overnight stay at your hotel in Manali.

Day 6 Day Excursion to Solang Valley

After breakfast, get ready to go on an excursion to Solang Valley. At 8500 ft above mean sea level, the preferred location for adventure activities in Himachal Pradesh, Solang Valley, is a must-see for adrenaline junkies. You can choose to go parachuting, paragliding, skating or zorbing (at your own expense).
Its lush forests, apple orchards, snowcapped peaks and rivers attract visitors.
Also halt at Nehru Kund.
By evening, return to your hotel in Manali and enjoy a lovely dinner.

Day 7 Departure from Manali to Chandigarh

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Chandigarh (by road), India's best-planned city.
This spic and span green city is an architectural marvel.
You will be transferred to the airport/railway station to board your flight/train back home upon arrival.
Your trip to Himachal has come to an end.
