Day 1 Guwahati to Shillong (120 kms/ 3 hrs)
Arrival at Guwahati and Transfer to Shillong: Arrive at Guwahati airport, where you will meet your driver and start your journey to Shillong. En route, stop at Umium Lake for a photo opportunity, capturing the serene beauty of this picturesque spot.

Explore Shillong: Reach Shillong in the afternoon and begin your local sightseeing tour. Visit Ward's Lake, a beautiful man-made lake surrounded by lush gardens, perfect for a leisurely walk. Explore the nearby Catholic Church, one of the prominent landmarks of Shillong.

Evening Market Walk: In the evening, take a walking tour of the local market in Shillong. This is a great opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of the region and shop for local handicrafts.

Overnight Stay: Return to your hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.

Transfer to Cherrapunjee: After breakfast, begin your drive to Cherrapunjee, famously known as the wettest place on Earth. The journey of 60 km will take about 1½ hours.

The sight of a rhino grazing peacefully amidst the tall elephant grass was breathtaking combined with exhilarating excitement of spotting the tiger Meghalaya, a stunning state in the northeastern region of India renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, lush greenery and vibrant culture. **Shillong:** Often called the "Scotland of the East" it offers picturesque views, rolling hills and vibrant colonial architecture. The scenic Shillong Peak provided stunning panoramas of the surrounding valleys. **Cherapunjee (Sohra):** The Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India is a breathtaking sight **Mawsmai Caves:** The Mawsmai Caves present a fascinating world of stalactites and stalagmites. ** Living Root Bridges:** The trek of 7000 steps to the double-decker root bridge is particularly famous and provides a unique experience as I walked across the bridge which continues to grow .**Dawki:** Dawki river features crystal-clear waters that reflect the sky, creating a mesmerizing view. Boating on this river is a truly ethereal experience and is on the border of India and Bangladesh and was able to traverse across and back .**Laitlum Canyons:** Stunning panoramic views of the lush green valleys below, the Laitlum Canyons are a hidden gem .
