Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati - Transfer to Shillong
  • Arrive at Guwahati airport.
  • Transfer to Shillong ( 100 km / 2 ½ hrs drive).
  • En-route stop at the scenic viewpoint of the Umiam lake (the largest manmade lake in Northeast India).
  • On arrival in Shillong check in to the hotel.
  • After refreshments, explore the local night markets of Shillong.
  • Overnight stay at Shillong. 
  • Drive to Mawphlang Sacred forest ( 35 km / 02 hrs drive).
  • Start the trek known as David Scot Trail for 06 hrs.
  • Reach Mawladh.
  • Then you will be picked up and taken to Cherrapunjee.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Spend the evening at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, trek the single Decker Bridge (03 hrs trek).
  • Later explore the local sightseeing places of Cherrapunjee.
  • Later drive back to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • After breakfast, trek to Nongriat village, a War-Khasi village situated at the bottom of a deep valley. The trek is about 3 to 4 hours.
  • En route meet local Khasi villagers in Mawshamok, Tyrna, Umsohphie, and Nongthymmai.
  • See the longest Living Root Bridge, Double Decker Root Bridge, and go for a swim in Natural Swimming Pools.
  • In the evening get-together and cultural interaction with the villagers of Nongriat.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • Trek downhill for about 3 / 4 hours to reach the foothills adjacent to the Bangladesh border to Dalia a Garo Village.
  • Meet the village head, you will be escorted by him through the village.
  • The chief will explain their customs/ traditions and daily life of the Garos. Garos are one of the three tribes of Meghalaya, the Khasis, Garos, and Jaintias.
  • Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
  • After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport ( 05 hrs drive), for onward destination.

What's Good: I booked my Anniversary Trip to Shimla and Manali with Dreamland yours and travels. It was our first time visiting himachal and so we wanted someone to preplan it for us so that we (Read More) can just relax and worry about nothing. I came in contact with Kiran and from day 1 till the day I was back home she was in continuous contact, checking on us, checking with the driver about our well being and our location updates. The hotels she arranged for us were top notch. To our suprise, Kiran upgraded us into super delux hotel with great view for our manali stay. That was so sweet of her. Our driver - Manoj ji was very very very sweet and cooperative. I was unwell for the first 3 days of the trip and he made sure to get me meds and food, frequent bathroom stops and he was our guide for the tour too. Would really recommend Dreamland tours and travels for anyone who wants to have a hassle free and relaxing trip to Himachal.

What's Good: Everything was well organized. All stay options were good.
What's Not Good: Most of the places were dry in cheerapunji due to off season -Feb. And some places were closed (Read More). I would suggest to check this before going.
