You might have friends who've been to the Times Square in New York City and shown you their pictures. But now you can have your own picture without having travelled to NY. India is getting its very own Times Square in Bangalore now. The IT-capital of our country is undertaking the Times Square project at the intersection between Brigade Road and Residency Road. The announcement of the project was made by Mayor R. Sampath Raj on 30th May, 2019. We are excited and how!
This sure is going to boost the tourism industry of Bangalore and our country. It is all set to be the street full of entertainment. About 25 acres of land has been reserved for this project. Bangalore is seen to be a tourist thriving hub after this endeavour is completed.
But with great developments come even greater concerns. Despite being exciting, the project has been countered. The new attraction will pose to be a hassle for the residents of the city. Traffic and cramped spaces have always been a concerns and with such projects, it is an issue to worry. The citizens have raised voices about the worrisome state of their draining and transport systems as they believe that the government should first be working towards remodelling these systems.
Gowri Omanakuttan, marketing and communications manager of popular outdoor website Campmonk, said that there must be wholesome progress as opposed to such targeted focus on the heart of the city.
