Corniche Beach, Abu Dhabi Overview

Abu Dhabi’s Corniche Beach, which opened in 2008, is one of the most popular beaches and tourist destinations in the city. The 8-kilometres long beach extends along the Corniche Road, starting from the Hilton Hotel to Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street. Other interesting attractions, such as the Marina Mall and the Presidential Palace are located nearby.

Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach is noted for its spotless landscape, as well as the unique services offered to beachgoers like a library, multiple sports facilities and more. It is also known for its Blue Flag status, which is the international eco-label for beaches that guarantee clean and safe water. The beach thus attempts to maintain certain standards regarding environmental management, water quality, security and services.

Entry Fees

Public beach - Free
Corniche family beach: AED 10 per adult and AED 5 per child (under 12 years). Those under the age of 5 years can enter free.
Lounge Chair Rental: AED 25 per adult, and
Towel rentals: AED 10.
Bicycle hire from FunRideSports: Starts at AED 30 per hour for adults, and AED 20 per hour for children.

Facilities Offered

The Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach is packed with a number of fun activities for people of all ages. People can enjoy swimming in the clean waters here, but this is restricted to within 40 metres of the beach and is only permitted until sunset.

The beach also provides people with a number of services to ensure their satisfaction and safety. These services provided include:

Beach Privacy Segregation

The Corniche beach consists of five sections to cater to various groups of people, such as couples or families with children. These sections are managed by beach operator company, BAKE.

Gate 2: Families and quiet time only
Entry fee: AED 10

Gate 3: Families and children only
Entry fee: AED 10

Gate 4: Singles and groups
Free entry

It also includes other beach sections, namely the West Plaza section, the East Plaza section and the Western Extension beach, which are designated for other groups of people, such as singles, couples or groups. These are open public beaches, with no entry fees. The last section is the Al Sahil Beach, found at Gate 4, which requires paid entry.

Dress Code at Corniche Beach

All beachgoers must dress in modest swimwear, and this must only be worn on the beach itself. Once you leave the beach area, you must be appropriately dressed. Swimming in undergarments or topless is strictly prohibited.

After a long day of fun at the beach, people can visit the nearby restaurants, cafes and snack bars for a refreshing drink and snacks.

How To Reach Corniche Beach, Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Corniche beach stretches along the Corniche Road in Abu Dhabi. You can get here by car, taxi or bus. For those who choose to use the public bus, you can take either bus number 33 or 34 from Abu Dhabi Iranian Private School bus stop and get off at Abu Dhabi – Commercial International Bank, which is approximately 100 metres away from the beach.
