Souss Massa National Park is one of Morocco's most notable national parks and bird reserves and is famous for its hiking trails. The park’s main conservation is the northern bald ibis, with 3 or 4 being carefully looked after. Apart from the ibis, there are a variety of birds in the reserve, like the European spoonbill, Audouin's gull, red-necked nightjar, thick-billed lark, Tristram's warbler and Moussier's redstart.
A vast number of animal species can be fed or spotted as they are left freely. This includes scimitar oryx, addax, dama gazelle, north African ostrich and Dorcas gazelle. It covers over 330 square kilometres of protected land, including cliffs, sand dunes, forests, farmlands and coastal steppes.
