Tafraoute is a secluded oasis town situated by the red granite Anti-Atlas Mountains. The area is very calm and quiet, with few tourists and small restaurants. It is visited for the pools, rock formations or the Berber Village. It is also an ideal place for trekking, cycling or hiking.
Markets run on Wednesdays in Tafraoute with items like woodwork, leather and jewellery being sold by local merchants. Try the famous Amlou or relax in the old hammam behind the market. Festivals like Tafraoute Summer Music Festival and Almond Blossom Festival are greatly celebrated in this area, so if visiting during that time, be sure to pass by Tafroute.
