Shrouded in myth, the Pandavan Para, also known as Pandavan Rock, is believed to have been the hideout of the Pandavas. It is located in Urukunnu near Thenmala, 2 kilometres away from Chegannur in Alleppey. A popular picnic spot, the Pandavan Para has an ancient temple on its hilltop. Besides the curious rock structures in the shape of a frog (thavalapara) and a musical instrument (maddalapara), the Pandavan Para has enchanting views of the forest and Kallada Dam nearby.
