• The former hunting grounds of Royals were declared to be a Wildlife Reserve in 1955, and it got its status as a Tiger Reserve and National Park in 1978 under the Project Tiger Scheme of Indian Government.
• The best time to visit the park is between October and March as the weather is pleasant. The relocated tigers were quick in adapting to the new environment, and since the relocation, there has been a decent growth in their population.
• After an alarming decrease in the population of tigers (which went zero at a time), the relocation plan became a success due to the efforts of the Government of Rajasthan, in cooperation with the Government of India and Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
• The first aerial translocation of the male tiger named Dara, from Ranthambore took place on 28 June 2008.

Also, the procedure for pre-booking tickets online is slightly complicated. Here are the PDF guidelines issued by the authorities

1. Do not wear bright coloured clothes or fabrics with bold prints.
2. Do not disturb or feed the animals. Follow the instructions given by the faculty appropriately.
3. Avoid the last hour rush and try to reach the exit gate half an hour before the closing time.
4. Avoid carrying sharp objects like scissors or blades.
5. Carry necessary items like sanitizer, water bottle, hand towel, power bank, torch, medicines and mosquito repellant.
6. Do not make loud noises or litter the area with wrappers and other garbage.

Sariska Tiger Reserve lies 106 km away from Hindaun, 107 km from Jaipur and 200 km from Delhi. Sariska is well connected to Alwar, which is directly connected to NH-8. The buses from Alwar to Sariska are available on a regular basis. The nearest railway head is that of Alwar (at a distance of 37 km), and Jaipur is the nearest airport (at an approximate distance of 107 km). The tiger reserve lies on the Delhi-Alwar-Jaipur Highway.

The best time to visit this protected area is from October until May, due to the colder temperature and a pleasant weather. However, the best time to spot tigers in Sariska Tiger Reserve is in the summer months, when they move in search of waterholes in the absence of much foliage to camouflage themselves.

Keep in mind that during the summer months, the weather is extremely humid and hot. Also, the park remains closed between 1st July and 30th September. It is also closed on major national holidays.

Flora: The Reserve is mainly covered by Deciduous trees, predominantly by Dhok (Anogeissus pendula) and others being Khair (Acacia catechu), Tendu (Diospyros melanoxylon), and Ber (Zizyphus maudrentiana). You can get to see the lush green visionary during the monsoons. The summers here witness scorching weather, thus drying up all the primary vegetation.

Fauna: Apart from the Royal Bengal Tiger, you witness many species of wildlife such as Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Chitel, Nilgai, Chausingha, Sambar, Chinkara, Four-Horned Antelope and Hanuman Langur. It is also famous for its Rhesus Monkeys. The Bird lovers visiting Sariska cannot be disappointed as it has an ample of aviation species like Indian peafowl, Bush Quail, Treepie, Grey Partridge, White-throated Kingfisher, Crested Serpent Eagle and last but not the least The Indian Eagle-Owl.

The Sariska National Park is also home to India's largest population of peafowl and also houses quail, golden-backed sand grouse, woodpeckers and crested serpent eagles. The Siliserh Lake, which is located on the edge of the Sariska National Park has a large crocodile population as well. The carnivores such as Leopard, Jungle Cat, Jackal, Wild Dog, Hyena and Tiger present in Sariska feed on the other species like Sambar, Nilgai, Chital, Wild Boar, Chausingha and Langur.

• The reason behind this immense popularity is the presence of the ruins of medieval temples of Garh-Rajor that dates back to the 10th and 11th centuries along with a 17th-century castle at Kankwari that provides a panoramic view of the area.
• Other prominent attractions here include Pandopil, which lies in the hills in the central area of the national park. This site is famous as the place where the Pandava brothers Mahabharata had spent a few days, while they were in their exile.
• Built by the Bargujars, the Nilkanth temple is another attraction here, known for its splendour.
