Duomo di Amalfi, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, is a stunning 9th-century church that dominates Amalfi’s main square. Known for its striking Arab-Norman façade, grand staircase, and elaborate bronze doors from Constantinople, the cathedral is a masterpiece of mixed architectural styles. Inside, visitors can explore the Cloister of Paradise, with Moorish arches and medieval frescoes, and the Crypt of Saint Andrew, which houses the relics of the apostle.
The Duomo di Amalfi, originally built in the 9th century, showcases a blend of architectural styles, including Arab-Norman, Byzantine, and Romanesque influences. Its striking facade is adorned with intricate mosaics and bronze doors, while the interior houses valuable relics, such as the remains of Saint Andrew, Amalfi's patron saint.
