Located in the Ras Al-Ein district of Amman, the Jordan Museum is the largest in the country. It displays the most important archaeological discoveries made in Jordan. These include statues from Ain Ghazal dating back to 7500 BCE, considered the oldest surrounding statues in human history, animal bones that are 1.5 million years old, and some of the Dead Sea scrolls.
The collections can be viewed in chronological order in the museum. The Jordan Museum also features outdoor exhibitions, lecture halls, a conservation centre, a library and a play area for children. You can take a taxi from anywhere in the city as it is located in downtown Amman's Ras Al-Ayn Area, next to Greater Amman Municipality Building.
