Flevopark

Flevopark is a greenspace with sizable lawns for picnics, jogging trails, a playground, a youth center - Jeugdland, a large outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, & barbecue areas. It is situated in the Indische Buurt, beside the University of Amsterdam's Science Park .

Set in the east of Amsterdam, Flevopark is a sprawling park with a slightly wilder feel than Oosterpark and Vondelpark, which are relatively more well-maintained. Amidst the thickets of trees, paths are winding in and out. Here, you can spot bright green parrots, nests of heron families, & other birds. Also, many private groves in the Flevopark make it a suitable choice for BBQ on a sunny day. The waterside area is dotted with picnic tables. Notably, you will find a distillery & tasting room on the banks of the Nieuwe Diep. Besides, the adventure-packed playground provides tools and wood, hence the kids can exercise their carpentry skills and erect huts. It is a great place to relax, jog, play, & enjoy picnicking.
