Avis Island Beach, Andaman Overview

The Avis Island Beach is a public island beach for individuals wishing to spend some time away from crowds and in their own solitary company. Avis Island is an uninhabited beach, which automatically makes activity on the beach lesser and the beach itself more isolated. Avis Island Beach is also easily accessible and has crystal clear, calm waters that add to the serene ambience of the beach. Due to the organic coconut plantations on the island, Avis Island is also known as the coconut island.

Activities on Avis Island Beach

The Avis Island Beach is mostly known for its coconut plantations. The island was previously meant to be home to a famous hotel chain, but after legal ramifications, it fell into the hands of the national authorities who deemed the island for coconut plantations. Aside from the plantations, the beach is the only source of activity on Avis Island.

When visiting the island, many individuals prefer to use an opportunity for clicking stellar pictures with the sunset or sunrise, blue waters and the coconut trees as the background. The island also makes for an excellent place to spot fishes in the water as the calm waters are so clear and brilliant that the little bursts of colour are visible through the surface.

Swimming on Avis Island Beach is not recommended as the several pebbles, and stones covering the water bed hinder swimming and individuals might hurt themselves. The shore also offers a great view and shoreline which can be used for long walks on the beach or strolls. If visiting with a group, the island can be used as an isolated picnic spot for the gathering.
