Connected by a thin strip of crescent-shaped sand bar visible only during a low tide, the twin islands of Ross and Smith are well known for their peaceful environment and spectacular views. The gem green-coloured waters are clear, and the sand bar divides it into two, one section ideal for swimming and the other for watersports.
Visitors can take walks on the beach, sunbathe or watch the sun go down. The serene surroundings make for a great island camping experience, and there are resorts in Diglipur for those who wish to spend a few days near the beach. Furthermore, visitors looking to escape the sun for a bit can take shelter in one of the eco-huts on the beach. Entry onto Ross and Smith Islands requires getting a permit from the Diglipur Forest Office.
