Tezu, Anjaw Overview

This beauty is full of bustle during the festival of Makar sankranti in January. There is a grand celebration that is organized during this time by the Mishmi tribe called Tamladu festival. Mishmi tribe is known to be one of the oldest, existing since the era of Mahabharat. People also take a dip in the holy water of Parshuram Kund with the belief that all their sins get washed away in the process and people also indulge in the joyous mela that takes place during this time around the Kund. The story says that when Parshuram was ordered by his father to kill his mother he threw the axe with great fury which lead to the birth of this Kund. And the crack caused eventually became the source of the Lohit river
