Guvenpark, Ankara Overview

Güvenpark is a historic urban park located in the heart of Ankara's Kızılay district. Established in the 1930s as part of the city's early republican development, it serves as a central recreational area and a significant cultural landmark. Güven Monument is the central feature of the park and a tribute to Turkey's security forces.

Designed by Austrian architect Clemens Holzmeister, Güvenpark was created to provide a green space in the rapidly developing capital of Turkey. The park features the prominent Güven Monument (Güven Anıtı), also known as the Security Monument, which was completed in 1935. This monument, crafted by Austrian sculptors Anton Hanak and Josef Thorak, is dedicated to the Turkish security forces and symbolizes the nation's trust in its police and military.
