The Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre is a privately owned 4-storeyed complex of shops and galleries. It showcases African art and celebrates Tanzania's diverse cultural heritage. Visitors can see traditional artefacts and artworks, and learn about Tanzania's rich cultural traditions.
Established in 1994, the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre has a modern museum building and a large collection of African art. This includes carvings, gemstones, artefacts, clothing, and books. Visitors can join guided tours and workshops to learn about Tanzanian culture. Plus, they can support local artisans by purchasing authentic Tanzanian crafts and souvenirs from the centre’s shops. The centre also features a restaurant, coffee shop, spice centre, beads centre, and flea shop.
