The Baku Museum of Miniature Books, located in the old part of Baku known as Inner City, is the only museum of its kind in the world. It showcases a remarkable collection of over 6500 miniature books from 64 countries. Its exhibits offer a fascinating glimpse into the art of bookmaking and the history of printing, showcasing miniature editions of literary classics, religious texts, and rare manuscripts.
It started operating on April 2, 2002, and in 2015, it was officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest private museum of miniature books. The museum opened its doors to the public with the aim of fostering childhood literacy. Zarifa Salahova, sister of Tahir Salahov, spent 30 years collecting these exhibits showcased in the museum.
