Apart from being a popular tourist hotspot, Sanur in Bali is also home to some adorable turtles and their hatchlings. Located at the end of Pantai Sindhu, the small turtle conservation centre houses dozens of baby turtles that offer an insight into Balinese wildlife conservation efforts as well as an ideal day out while on a family holiday.
Sanur takes significant measures to protect the turtle population and takes great care to conserve and preserve the turtle species. The centre is involved in activities which include protecting and nurturing the injured turtles, collecting the nests from the tourists and purchasing the eggs from the market to avoid their consumption. Here, turtles are cared for and protected until they are released back into the ocean after a month of nursing and nurturing.
