Situated in a 40-acre land that was once home to the original Mount Clare Shop, B & O Railroad Museum is a prestigious landmark and the country’s oldest manufacturing complex. It is renowned for being the birthplace of railroading in the United States.
The museum is home to the largest collection of locomotives from the 19th century, and artifacts, including art pieces, furniture, dioramas, uniforms, and tools, among others. Visitors can see, touch, and feel all the items at the museum and can also enjoy a 20-minute train ride on the railroad track that was laid in 1830.
