One of the oldest cultural museums in Maryland, the Maryland Historical Society, has a collection of Maryland’s history since 1844. The museum is home to over seven million historic artifacts that date back to pre-Colonial times.
Established in 1844, the museum features some of the famous exhibits, including Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte and the original manuscript of Francis Scott Key’s “The Star-Spangled Banner”.The 23,000 square feet museum also displays notable artworks and other historic items, such as photographs, journals, books, etc.
