Menjangan Island, Banyuwangi Overview

Menjangan Island, a component of the Indonesian archipelago, is situated 5 miles to the northwest of Bali Island. The name was derived from the Indonesian word ‘Menjangan,’ meaning deer. The name was given by the locals as they noticed wild deer herds travelling almost 2 kilometres to the island each spring while bathing. The island is located on the eastern coast of Java, and the nearest airport is Banyuwangi International Airport. One can find activities like boating, snorkelling, and visiting temples near the island.
