Border Triangle Basel, Basel Overview

The Border Triangle Basel, located near the Rhine River in Basel, marks the meeting point of three countries: Switzerland, Germany, and France. This unique landmark features a small monument and is accessible by a short walk from the Dreiländereck area. Visitors can stand at the crossroads of three nations and enjoy views of the river and surrounding industrial areas. The site is a popular stop for tourists.

This is also the place from where boats sail off towards the North Sea. It is crucial for the supply of raw materials to Switzerland. It also holds historical importance in the friendship of the three countries as this building is the result of an architectural competition to which Swiss, German, and French architects were invited in 1990.

On the ground floor of the building is a “sand oasis” consisting of palm trees, which gives the visitors the experience of being at a beach. One can relax here while relishing drinks from the cocktail bar. The first floor has a bar and an event room. It also has a terrace where one can witness the picturesque beauty of the Rhine.
