The provincial town of Battambang is home to two-night markets the old market and the new market, which are quite famous for the local Khmer street food. Tourists can enjoy cheap regional cuisines on the streets of these night markets, including noodles and unique rice dishes and even beer. The primary market is located close to Psar Nath, and the new night market is along the street beside the Sangker River. Apart from tasting local food, you can buy souvenirs, handmade crafts, jewellery and clothes. It is better to bargain well as the locals quote higher prices for the tourists.
