Well of Shadows, Battambang Overview
The Well of Shadows is the memorial place for the victims that lost their lives during the Khmer Rouge genocide. Over 10,000 victims were imprisoned and killed in the Wat Samrong Knog temple situated 200 meters from the memorial site. The top floor features a glass box containing the skulls of the dead, and the bottom houses bas-reliefs depicting the horrors of the genocide that transpired in the rice fields and the woods in the surrounding area.
