Formerly known as the Alexander Garden, 6 May Park is one of the oldest public parks in Batumi. The freshwater lake, Nurgeli, also known as Nuri Lake is located in the center of the park and offers boat rides at a nominal charge. It is famous for the various species of fish. The park also has a zoo that offers a separate interactive area for kids where they can meet animals such as horses and rabbits. It is popular as a picnic spot as it is known for its well-manicured lawns and picturesque surroundings.
The famous dolphinarium and the aquarium of Batumi are also located here. There is a stone fountain and a beautiful mosaic of dolphin art which are some popular landmarks of the area. At the entrance of the park, a huge tree planted by Alexander the Third can be seen. The sculptures in the park add to its beauty and introduce Georgian art to this lush green haven. Take a short stroll among the beautiful gardens or relax on the park benches after having a fun day of sightseeing.
