The Batumi Archaeological Museum serves as a captivating gateway into the rich history of the Adjara region. This cultural gem boasts an impressive array of collections, showcasing artifacts from various epochs, including prehistoric, Greek, Roman, and medieval periods. The museum has over 23000 unique artifacts, a photo archive, a scientific library, and a ceramic workshop. All the descriptions are translated into English and Russian.
The exhibits on the ground floor display period from antiquity to the late Middle Ages while the second floor contains exhibits from the Stone and Iron Ages. You can ask for a tour guide to learn more about the exhibits and Georgian history. Marvel at the unique architectural features of the building and wander through a picturesque courtyard.
