Located in the Bawani district of the southwestern Madhya Pradesh, Bawangaja is a popular Jain pilgrimage site. Situated just in the vicinity of River Narmada, the spot is best known for the world's second-largest megalithic statue of Lord Rishabhadeva which has been carved out of a mountain. Aside from the statue which is the highlight of the place, there is also a complex of eleven temples that is crowded with pilgrims and devotees and even tourists at all times of the year. In addition to that, the scenic place is frequented by wanderers and nature lovers as it boasts of lush greenery and the dense woods of the Satpura Ranges in the backdrop. There is also a stunning waterfall - Bandhan Waterfalls, to add to the charm of the place, and several Hindu temples scattered here and there at a distance.
