The Bern Bear Park (BärenPark) is a renowned attraction located along the banks of the Aare River, adjacent to the Old Town of Bern. Established in 2009, the park spans approximately 6,000 square meters and serves as a spacious, natural habitat for the city's beloved bears, a symbol of Bern since 1513. It features multiple viewing platforms, providing different perspectives of the bears' habitat.
Visitors can observe the bears engaging in various activities such as swimming, climbing, and foraging within their enriched environment. To reach the park, one can take tram line 12 from Bern's main train station to the "Bärengraben" stop, followed by a short walk. Alternatively, it's a pleasant 15-minute stroll from the city center across the Nydegg Bridge. The park is a popular spot, especially during warmer months, so visitors should anticipate crowds during peak times. While there isn't a café within the park itself, nearby establishments offer refreshments. Restroom facilities are available in the vicinity.
