Rose Garden Bern

The Rose Garden, or Rosengarten, is a renowned park situated on a hill east of Bern's Old Town, approximately a 15-minute walk from the city center. Its elevated position provides panoramic views of Bern's medieval architecture and the Aare River. The garden boasts over 200 varieties of roses, along with irises, rhododendrons, and water lilies. A playground is available for children, and the on-site restaurant offers Swiss and Mediterranean cuisine with both indoor and terrace seating.

Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls among the vibrant flowerbeds, relax on well-placed benches, or have picnics on the expansive lawns. The park is accessible year-round, but the roses are in full bloom from late spring to early autumn. Given its popularity, especially during weekends and blooming seasons, visitors might encounter crowds, but the spacious layout ensures a pleasant experience. Public restrooms are available on-site. To reach the Rose Garden, one can take Bus No. 10 from Bern's main train station to the Rosengarten stop, or opt for a scenic uphill walk through the Old Town.
