Established in 1973, the CAPC Modern Art Museum Bordeaux is a prominent contemporary art museum located at 7 Rue Ferrère in Bordeaux's Chartrons district. Housed in the historic Entrepôt Lainé, a former colonial warehouse, the museum showcases over 1,600 works by more than 200 international artists, reflecting significant art movements from the latter half of the 20th century to the present. This museum offers a meticulous look at a half-century of culture and features new forms of contemporary art. Created some 40 years ago in a former colonial warehouse (Entrepªts Lain_), it focuses on emerging art forms. It houses a permanent exhibition of some 1,300 works by 190 artists.The CAPC also organises temporary exhibitions, lectures and discussions on art history, guided tours, and learning experiences for children to pique interest in all, irrespective of what age one is.
