Notre Dame Street

In the city centre of Bordeaux, on the left bank the Notre Dame street cuts across the well-known Chartrons district. Today Notre Dame Street is regarded as the antiques street of Bordeaux as it consists of more than 40 antique and old shops over its 700 meters in length.

The goods that sell in the stores are made by independent craftspersons thus ensuring that the products are authentic. Colourful facades around the street are visually appealing. One can even get a detailed understanding of the ethnography of the French culture and history through this street. Art galleries and alternative shops in the neighbourhood add to the bohemian touch. This street has several decoration stores, artist studios and mini local shops. One can even find restaurants and other food outlets selling local food items. 


For tourists, this place might be of great interest as it offers antique products which are of premium quality. However, this street is not open to typical shopping like other streets where one can indulge in a variety of products and shop to the fullest.
