Submarine Space is a cultural event centre which puts up dance shows, theatres, concerts and art exhibits. Some extensive private governmental events are also conducted here. This is a great engineering marvel in terms of its appearance and the manner in which it was built.
The Submarine Base is a noteworthy trail of the Second World War which was developed between 1941 and 1943 by the German navy to accommodate the houseboats of the 12th fleet. In 2000, it was converted into an exhibition space and occupies a crucial position in Bordeaux's cultural outlook. The goal of the exhibitions is to disclose the architecture of this single building with interventions by permanent or upcoming contemporary artists. Georges Rousse, JR, Daniel Firman, and Miguel Chevalier are the artists featured in 2014, 2016, and 2018, respectively.
