The Belfry of Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a medieval bell tower built in the 13th century, located in the heart of Bruges at the Markt square. Standing 83 meters tall, it features 366 steps leading to a panoramic view of the city. Historically, it served as a lookout point and housed important civic documents. The tower's 47-bell carillon still rings out, adding to its historic charm and cultural significance.
Halle, built in 1248 and once the main market place of the city, encloses a quaint courtyard. The entrance to the Belfry is through the inner courtyard. It houses a Carillon with 47 bells hanging in the tower. On the way up, the Treasure Room on the second floor, holds records of civic documents like city's charter, public funds, city's seal etc.æ
