Inkaya Historical Plane Tree, Bursa Overview
Inkaya Tarihi Cinar is a memorial plane tree that is almost 800 years old. It is located in Golyazi village and the tree is most famously known for its legendary story- the Weeping Sycamore. It is 37 metres tall and is Turkey’s biggest tree.
The story goes on about a Turkish man and a Greek woman who had an unrequited love story and met in front of a tree. When they died, the tree was also a witness which is why it is known as the Weeping Sycamore. The tree is known as Aglayan Cinar due to its capability to pour out sap. There is also a tiny cafe next to the memorial plane, to stop by for food and refreshments.
