Orhan Gazi is the son of Osman Gazi- the founder of the Ottoman Empire. His tomb lies where the church of St. Elias Monastery used to exist. Today, only some of the church’s remains can be found in the mausoleum.
There are architectural styles of the Byzantine Era that can be observed. The sarcophagus of Orhan Gazi is situated in the centre, on a marble base and is surrounded by a lattice made of brass. The sarcophagi of Orhan Gazi’s wife, son and other associates are also present in the mausoleum.
