Uludag National Park is Turkey’s leading centre for winter sports and skiing. The area is covered with snow for 178 days. It also withholds the famous Mount Uludag (the highest point in the Marmara region), the Aras Waterfalls and magnificent glaciers. Skiing, snowboarding, bigfoot and snowmobiling are the most common winter sports here.
The snow levels are up to 4 metres, and the park can be reached through the highway or cable cars. Hiking is also a famous activity, and while hiking to the mountain peak, you will find various animals like bears, coyotes, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, weasels, wild boars, snakes, lizards, mountain eagles, woodpeckers, owls, doves and sparrows. There are also over 700 species of plants. In summer, there are glacial lakes at the peak too.
