The most important architectural marvel here is the 16th century cathedral which is built in the neoclassical style along with a Gothic interior. Museum of the Canary Islands is also a very famous museum which shows the pre Hispanic culture of Gran Canaria. The Nestor Museum on the island showcases the works of Nestor Martin Fernandez de la Torre, a Spanish symbolist artist. Gran Canaria is also famous for its beautiful beaches like the Las Canteras Beach, La Playa Jinamar and many others. Jardin Botanico Viera y Clavijo is yet another major attraction of this island.
