Vergelegen Wine Estate, Cape Town Overview

Vergelegen Wine Estate is known for its themed tours, fine dining restaurants and vineyards. It is located in Somerset West and is one of the most beautiful wine farms in the Western Cape. The Estate offers wine tours, wine tasting, romantic picnics and breathtaking views. It also boasts a fine dining restaurant called Rose Terrace Bistro.

Founded on 1st February 1700, the Vergelegen Wine Estate is filled with over 300 years of history, heritage, beautiful gardens, delicious food and handcrafted wine. It offers three different tours. The environmental tour gives a glimpse of the biodiversity being nurtured at the estate. The Cellar and Vineyard tours provide an overview of the vineyards with stops at special ones, the gravitational flow cellar, and the underground barrel vault. Finally, the heritage tour leads to the 300-year-old Homestead that has been authentically restored and maintained, the 200-year-old Library containing over 4500 books and the historically significant gardens, including the Camphor trees planted by the founder in 1705.
