The most spectacular hikes in Cappadocia are considered to be the trail to Red & Rose Valley, close to Gerome. The loop trail of Rose valley connects it to the Red Valley Trail. The hike starts from Buffe, a shop marked on Google Maps. Take a bus to Cavusin and then walk, or walk straight from Göreme. The trek isn't strenuous, takes around 2-3 hours to complete, and has marvellous viewpoints all along the way! The hike is ideal for beginners.
The trail can be reached by cab, rented scooter, or ATV. The Red and Rose Valley is aesthetically superb. Rocks in various shades of rose are scattered all over, making for one of Cappadocia's most famous hikes. As you go along the valley, you will be surrounded by colourful flowers and come across many beautifully built churches, with lots of paintings and decorations, vineyards and fields cultivated by the local farmers. The most notable churches are the Hacli, Avyali, and the Uc Hacli. There are several hiking trails as well, around 2 hours long, which give you enough time and opportunity to marvel at the beauty of the valley. If hiking Red Valley for sunset, you are advised to start walking just before sunset and grab the suitable place at the viewing terrace.
