Villa San Michele, perched on the cliffs of Capri, is a museum offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples. Located in the charming town of Anacapri, it is famous for its stunning gardens, ancient artifacts, and captivating architecture. It is just a short walk from the main bus stop or Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri.
This historic villa was once the home of Swedish physician and author Axel Munthe. The lush gardens showcase a harmonious blend of flora from different regions, while the villa itself houses Munthe's eclectic collection of art and antiquities. Set on the site of an ancient Roman villa, it features stunning architecture, lush gardens, and breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, and the Sorrentine Peninsula. The villa is adorned with ancient artifacts, including statues, columns, and mosaics collected by Munthe during his travels.
