Azemmour is a city to the Southwest of Casablanca known for its spring festival, historic lighthouse Sidi Boubeker and beautiful coastline. The town has a Portuguese medina which is the oldest medina in Morocco. Azemmour is also replete with quaint cafes and restaurants that serve delicious food.
Azemmour also features Maison d'Artisanat, an old Koranic school converted into a centre of art and culture. It is famous for its art exhibitions, displays of local handicrafts and classrooms where different indigenous art forms are taught. The rooftop offers a most stunning view of the entire city and the Oum er Rbia River that runs alongside it. You can enjoy boat rides on this river. The Haouzia Beach offers activities like windsurfing and swimming and has many facilities like rentable beach chairs, parasols, lavatories, showers and car parking. The entire city is pedestrian-friendly and best visited on foot. There is a train from Casablanca to Azemmour every four hours, and the journey takes about an hour.
