Rafting on Upper Alaknanda River is exhausting and tiring but more than that it is exhilarating and rewarding. The chase on the wild rapids and the ever changing landscape of gorges and dense forests pumps up the excitement level to maximum.
Commencing from Chamoli, the ride will take you through three prayags namely Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag and Rudraprayag all covered on the Upper section of Alaknanda River. The rafting starts with grade III and touches the IV and IV+ and thus raising the bar of required prior experience. If you are one of the adventure junkies and love water sports, then pack your bags and face the challenge.
Air: Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun serves as the nearest airbase to Chamoli. It is connected to Delhi by daily flights and one can easily hire a cab from outside the airport to reach the base in about 3 to 3.5 hours.
Rail: Haridwar is the nearest railhead to the camp at Chamoli. The station is a well conncetd one with regular trains running between Delhi and Haridwar. It takes around 33 to 3.5 hours to reach the camp from station.
Road: Chamoli, sitted on NH58, is easly accessible from a the neighbouring cities.Regular bus services, both public and private, plies to and from Chamoli to Delhi and other states of the country.
Cost of Activity: Starts from Rs. 8000 per person including 1 night stay and meals for particular number of days.
