Choui Fong Tea Plantation

Located in Mae Chan, Choui Fong Tea Plantation is a relaxing pitstop on the way to the Golden Triangle from Chiang Rai. The undulating green plains covered in tea bushes make an excellent sight. You can take pictures but not step inside the tea fields or witness the tea processing process at the plant. There are two cafes that offer tea tasting and tea brewing demonstrations along with food and beverages.

Both cafes serve popular signature dishes like crepe cakes, buns, fudges, banoffee, ice creams, and slushies made with all the tea they make at the estate. You can choose from fresh matcha, oolong, Ti Kuan Yim, Thai tea, classic Chinese black tea, or more exotic varieties like Dragon Pearl and Rose. You should try their deep-fried tea leaves with a chili mustard dip. They also serve filling appetizers like pork dumplings, chicken nuggets, shrimp rolls, tuna salad, spaghetti, fried rice, and noodles. The cafes have seating arrangements on an open-air deck terrace from where you can get a 360-degree unencumbered view of the plantation. The cafe souvenir shops sell packaged tea leaves, grounds, and powders you can take home. Tea-infused skincare products like soaps, hand creams, body lotions, and body washes are also sold here.
