Jhari Waterfalls, Chikmagalur Overview

Jhari Waterfalls, also known as the Buttermilk Falls, is situated near Attigundi at a distance of 12 km from Baba Budangiri. It is one of the most famous waterfalls in the Chikmagalur district and one of the best tourist places in the district. This mesmerising falls surrounded by dense forests and coffee plantations are created by the springs which originate in the mountains. There is pool too which has been formed in the lower part of the waterfall for the tourists to swim and play in the water and relax. Best Time To Visit Jhari Waterfalls

The perfect time to pay a visit to the falls is during the monsoon and post monsoon seasons. The ideal time is from August to January while the peak season begins in September and ends in December.

How To Reach Jhari Waterfalls

The waterfall is situated on a steep road down through the private coffee plantations from the parking at a distance of 4 km from the falls. Since the condition of the roads is pretty bad, visitors are advised not to take their vehicles there. Although, you can take a jeep ride down the hill which will cost around INR 600 for a maximum of 6 people.
