Kodiveri Dam, Coimbatore Overview
Situated on the Bhavani River near Gobichettipalayam in Tamil Nadu, Kodiveri Dam is a scenic picnic spot and a major tourist attraction in the place. The dam is not only a tourist spot but it also provides irrigation water for over 25000 hectares of land. In addition to that, there is also a park constructed at the bottom of the dam that has several attractions, rides and games for the entertainment of the tourists.
The gushing river water from across the dam forms a little waterfall that is a pure visual delight. The gurgling cascading water is not very heavy and softly falls to the ground. For the same reason, it is safe to take a dip in the falls or even enjoy swimming here. The area is also inhabited by coracle rowers who catch and sell fresh fish.
