  1. Tadiandamol Peak

    The most popular trekking route in Coorg is the trail leading to the picturesque Tadiandamol Peak. Perched at a height of 5735 feet, the route leading to it is packed with puffy clouds, azure blue skies, tinkering streams and shiny waterfalls. The starting point of this trek is at Nalknad Palace which is 4 km off the main road and Kakkabe town is the base camp where you can relax and chill. Nestled amidst beautiful coffee estates and tea plantations, the total distance covered is 4.5 km.
  2. Iruppu Falls Trek

    The trek to Iruppu Falls is endowed with gorgeous panoramic vistas with the jingling sound of the waterfall in the background. Leading through narrow ruddy pathways amidst dense green woods, the end point to the trek - that is the beautiful waterfall itself, is a pure visual delight. Besides, the region is home to some of the endangered species of plants and animals, which you can spot if lucky. This trek takes 4 - 5 hours to complete.

  3. Galibeedu- Subramanya Trek

    This is another one of the beautiful treks leading into the heart of the hill town with several villages and incomparable natural beauty of the hills of the Western Ghat. The total distance covered is 30 km but the hassle is totally worth it. It is advisable to take assistance from a guide or a trek leader for this trek as the trail is a little misleading and confusing.
  4. Subramanya- Kumara Parvatha Trek

    Subramanya- Kumara Parvatha Trek let’s you scale the mighty peak of the Parvatha mountain. It can be reached through two routes. First is through Somwarpet which is a little tricky as it crosses through dense forests and waterfalls. This is a 7 km long trek only. While the other one via Subramanya is slightly easier but longer where the distance covered is 16 km. You can also set camp and spend a night near Bhattrumane region, very close to the destination.

  5. Pushpagiri Trek

    Also known as Kumara Parvatha, Pushpagiri is a mighty mountain perched at a height of 5626 m. The trek leads through beautiful green woods and offers enthralling views of the mountains in the backdrop. Besides, once at the top, the vantage point offers a panoramic bird’s eye view of the valley below. This trek will take 4 - 5 hours to be completed.
  6. Kotebetta Peak Trek

    Trek to the Kotebetta Peak, also known as the Fort Hill, is another popular trail in Coorg. Known for its scenic views and beautiful landscape all along the route. The trek starts at Madhapur which is 15 km from Madikeri. It is advisable to take a guide or an expert along on this trek.

Things to Carry on the Trek

  1. Wear comfortable footwear, preferable sport shoes or shoes with a grip. 
  2. Wear comfortable and light clothes and pack extra just in case it rains.
  3. Carry thermals, especially if you are trekking in winters.
  4. Also carry a windproof jacket as the intensity of the winds at that height is pretty high.
  5. Remember to carry a tower or a big handkerchief.
  6. As most of these are remote locations, pack some ready to eat food, snacks and energy bars (like chocolates).
  7. Do not forget to take enough water along.
  8. Carry a torch light and extra batteries.
  9. And last, but not least, take basic medicines along with you like bandaids, dettol, painkillers, cotton, betadine, antiseptics and paracetamols.
