Located in the heart of Copenhagen, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is an art museum with over 10,000 sculptures. The museum is commonly known as Glyptoteket, a museum specialising in Mediterranean antiquities from Egypt, Greece, and Rome that give a glimpse of the region's ancient culture. This museum also has a collection of some modern sculptures by French sculptor Auguste Rodin that add to its charm.
It houses multiple exhibitions, such as the Ancient Mediterranean, French and Danish Sculpture, Greek and Roman sculptures, Danish Art, French Art, and Egyptian Art, which house more than just sculptures, but also have a considerable collection of paintings and artworks. In addition to its auditoriums and large halls, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is also noted for its excellent acoustics. It organizes classical concerts by eminent artists such as the Hagen Quartet, violinist Alina Ibragimova, pianist Cedric Tiberghien and many others. As part of its regular activities, the museum also organizes a variety of poetry readings, lectures, plays and debates.
