Palace of Viana is a historic mansion located in the Santa Marina neighborhood of Córdoba. Renowned for its twelve exquisite patios and a lush garden, the palace offers visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of Spanish nobility from the 14th century onwards. Inside, the palace houses an impressive collection of artifacts, including paintings, ceramics, tapestries, and an extensive library with volumes dating back to the 16th century.
Constructed in the 14th century, the Palacio de Viana has undergone several expansions and renovations, reflecting various architectural styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque influences. The mansion's layout is centered around twelve distinct patios, each uniquely designed with a variety of plants, fountains, and decorative elements. These courtyards not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also serve as natural cooling systems during Córdoba's hot summers. The interiors are adorned with antique furniture and decorative arts, offering insight into the aristocratic life of its former inhabitants.
