Cap Corse, Corsica Overview

Lovingly known as an island within an island, the Cap Corse is a peninsula located in the north of Corsica. It offers some unspoilt, beautiful swathes of coast and towns rooted in history separating it from the rest of the island. It boasts villages perched on hills, coves and fishing ports.

The northern coast is perfect for coastal walks and further into the land up north, you encounter the beautiful village of Luri which sits right between picturesque vineyards and lemon trees. The annual wine fair hosted at Luri around the first week of July is a grand affair of the region on ought not to miss. 


Nonza is a must-visit place in Cap Corse. This flower-garnished slate-roofed village offers a lot to enjoy and learn about its present and history respectively. Centuri Port near the old fishing port makes for a perfect lunch spot and the unique thing about its restaurants is their dynamic menu that keeps changing as per the catch of the day. The pedestrianised village of Erbalunga on the eastern coast clings onto a nicked promontory and has numerous cute cafes and cosy restaurants besides a Genoese tower. The village is also the home of a Jazz festival that takes place in August each year.

Must Know Before You Visit Cap Corse

Other important objective information : 1. If you wish to traverse the entire Cap Corse route via your car, it shall take around 4 hours from St. Florent and we recommend covering the island in a clockwise direction so you’re always in the inside lane. 
2. The road is narrow at points and the drops and winding are precipitous.
